Postnatal Doula Support in Dorset and Hampshire

Postnatal support packages in and around Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole

Katie Small, doula and breastfeeding coach supporting families in Dorset, Hampshire and online

You refuse to settle for the narrative that the early weeks are all about survival - you want bespoke support that allows you to actually enjoy those early days and weeks.

You're envisioning those peaceful feeding moments where time slows down and it's just you and your baby, feeling completely connected — not frantically googling "is this normal?" at 3am while bouncing a crying baby, and wondering why everyone else seems to have it figured out.

You want to start parenthood feeling rested and restored so you can be fully present with your baby. And you want specialised feeding guidance that's tailored specifically to you and your baby's unique needs.

You want someone who'll really listen when you want to talk honestly about your birth experience and the reality of new motherhood. And you want the mental space to actually connect with your partner, instead of feeling overwhelmed by the endless to-do list.

If any of this resonates, you're in the right place. My specialist postnatal doula packages are completely personalised to create the fourth trimester you're dreaming of. I'll help with the practical elements, provide emotional support, and offer evidence-based guidance that helps you feel more confident and more in control.

When you choose me as your doula you get to focus on bonding with your baby, recovering at your own pace, and creating those precious early memories — while I support you with whatever it is you need the most. Because this chapter of your life deserves to be everything you hoped it would be.

My postnatal support packages are available to you if you live in Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding areas (including Christchurch, Ringwood, Ferndown, Dorchester, Blandford Forum, Wareham, Verwood and the New Forest - but depending on availability I'm often able to travel as far as Winchester, Southampton and Salisbury).

I offer a free, no-obligation 30-minute connection call to help me get to know more about you and your hopes for your postpartum period, and for you to find out more about how I might be able to support you.

Postnatal doula packages in Dorset and Hampshire

I offer three specially curated packages to support you after the birth of your baby:

The ultimate in bespoke postnatal care - a sanctuary designed just for you.

The premium support package - 40 hours of care to help you truly savour every moment of the newborn period.

This is more than just practical help - feel genuinely held, rested, and more like yourself as you create the motherhood journey you've always imagined. You'll truly experience the newborn period, not just survive it.

Reassuring support as your find your rhythm in early parenthood.

With 24 hours of care, this package is ideal if you want more consistent support in the early weeks.

I'll walk beside you as you regain your footing, rebuild your energy, and grow in confidence, knowing that someone is there to ease your mental load and help you feel genuinely held, confident and more like yourself again.

Gentle support as you ease into new parenthood.

This 12-hour postnatal package is for you if you want just a little extra care and support in those very early days.

Whether it's support with newborn care, a listening ear, care as you recover and heal from birth or getting your breastfeeding journey off to a confident start, I offer nurturing and expert support when it matters most.

All my packages include WhatsApp support throughout our time together - and this is often where the real magic happens.

Breastfeeding doesn't follow a schedule. A latch that worked perfectly yesterday might feel different today. A feeding that seemed smooth at 2pm might feel impossible at 2am. When you're exhausted, uncertain, or just need reassurance right now, you won't be waiting days for an appointment or scrolling through conflicting advice online.

Instead, you'll have someone who knows you, your baby, and your feeding journey available to troubleshoot in real-time, validate your instincts, and guide you through those crucial moments when support can make all the difference.

Payment plans are always available.

If the above packages don't quite work for your needs, or you would like to discuss a bespoke package combining postnatal and overnight doula support, then please get in touch.

Or if you're not local to Dorset or Hampshire, or just want reassuring and consistent breastfeeding support on speed dial on those early weeks, have a look at my 'pocket breastfeeding' services - available worldwide!

What does a postnatal doula do?

My work with each family is completely bespoke and designed around what matters most to you - you deserve care that fits your vision of motherhood perfectly.

Here are some examples of how I might support you:

- Emotional Support. I create genuine space for you to process this transition exactly as you need to. Whether you want to talk through your birth experience, share how recovery is really going, or explore the changes in your relationships and identity, you're free to be completely honest. We celebrate every success and work through any struggles together - because having someone with the time and space to truly hear you makes all the difference.

- Feeding support. I'll sit with you for as long as you need as you and your baby find your rhythm with whatever feeding method works for your family. If challenges arise, we'll explore solutions together at your pace, always supporting and respecting your choices and priorities.

- Support with rest. You deserve uninterrupted time to heal and recharge. I can care for your baby while you nap, enjoy a proper shower, or simply have some space to breathe and feel like yourself again.

- Household support that reduces your mental load. While you rest or bond with your baby, I can handle those household tasks that are weighing on your mind — laundry, tidying, meal prep — so you can focus on what truly matters to you.

- Practical support for your whole family. From accompanying you to appointments to playing with older siblings, I'm here to help your entire family settle into this new chapter with confidence and ease.
