Overnight Doula Support in Dorset and Hampshire

Night doula support in and around Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

You don't have to suffer with sleep deprivation. I offer overnight doula support designed for new families who want expert help during those intense early days - so you can get the rest you need, while confidently establishing feeding - however that looks.

My specialism is supporting breastfeeding families - I'll be there in those vulnerable 3am moments when you're not sure if the latch is right, when every sound baby makes feels confusing, when you wonder if you're the only person awake in the entire world. You won't be alone, and you won't be guessing.

But whether you're breastfeeding, combination feeding, or formula feeding, you deserve expert overnight support that helps you rest and truly enjoy your baby.

I remember that feeling of dread when nighttime approaches - wondering how many times you'll wake, whether feeding will go smoothly, and whether you'll feel even more exhausted in the morning.

Imagine waking up after actually sleeping, feeling like yourself again - and feeding is working, because you had expert support exactly when you needed it.

If you're breastfeeding, I'll bring baby to you for feeds and sit with you in those quiet hours - helping with positions, watching the latch, reassuring you that you're doing this right. Between feeds, I'll settle baby and handle everything else so you can get a proper block of sleep.

If you're bottle feeding, I can handle feeds while you sleep, or support you with responsive techniques.

Most importantly, I'll tell you that you've got this when you have no idea if it's true - because I can see that it is. And when you wake, I'll make you breakfast and you'll feel refreshed, ready, and like you've actually got this.

An overnight session is 10 hours, usually starting at 9pm and finishing at 7am, but timings can be flexible if an earlier start or later finish would suit your family's needs.

£275 per night

If you'd like to combine overnight support and daytime postnatal support please let me know, and we can discuss a package that would work for your needs.

Overnight support is also available for those early nights in hospital. If you've had a caesarean and want some help caring for your baby, or if you want dedicated support to help you get breastfeeding off to the best possible start, I offer overnight support at Bournemouth, Dorchester and Southampton hospitals.

My night doula support support is available to you if you live in Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding areas (including Christchurch, Ringwood, Ferndown, Dorchester, Blandford Forum, Wareham, Verwood and the New Forest - but depending on availability I'm often able to travel as far as Winchester, Southampton and Salisbury).

However, please contact me if you live in other areas of Dorset/Hampshire, as I may still be able to support you.

It's really important you feel comfortable with me - I'm going to be caring for your baby. I offer a free 30-minute connection call for you to get to know me, and ensure that I'm the right doula for you and your family.

Family in the Kitchen
“We would highly recommend Katie as a postpartum night doula. Katie has had a huge (positive!) impact on our postpartum experience. She immediately made us feel at ease with her calming, caring and confident manner, so we felt very comfortable leaving our newborn daughter in her care.

Katie was always on time and always gave a very thorough commentary on what happened with our daughter through the night so we always felt fully informed. Katie was also happy to be flexible and help out with extra support at short notice.

Most importantly our newborn daughter was clearly very comfortable with Katie. This meant we were able to relax and get a good nights sleep which we feel made a massive difference in how much we were able to enjoy the first weeks with our newborn”

What does an overnight doula do?

You might be wondering what overnight doula care looks like. Support is always tailored to your needs and different for every family, but often includes:

  • Tending to your baby during the night — feeding, changing, winding and settling, so you can get more sleep

  • Bringing your baby to you for breastfeeding or bottle feeding, and settling them afterwards

  • Keeping you nourished with drinks and snacks throughout the night

  • Sterilising and sorting feeding equipment so it’s ready for the morning

  • Quietly tidying or folding laundry while your baby sleeps, so your home feels calmer by sunrise

  • Getting up early with older children so you can sleep in a little longer

  • Preparing breakfast and a hot cup of tea so you wake to warmth and care

Imagine waking up feeling rested, supported, and just a little more like yourself again. That’s what overnight doula support can do.
