Breastfeeding Support in Dorset and Hampshire

Private Breastfeeding support in and around Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

A baby breastfeeding

You're not imagining it - breastfeeding shouldn't leave you wincing in pain or dreading every feeding cue.

You shouldn't have to spend 22 hours a day wondering if you should 'just try a bottle of formula', or lie awake trying to work out whether your baby had enough milk.

You want those calm, Netflix-watching feeding sessions you see other mums enjoying - not latching and unlatching your baby 18 times, crying with them in frustration

My private, one-to-one breastfeeding support sessions take place either in the comfort of your home if you live in and around Bournemouth and Poole, or via Zoom. Get with calm, evidence-based guidance and real empathy from someone who just gets it.

Each session is shaped around your unique needs, but might include support with:

  • Positioning and attachment

  • Milk supply concerns

  • Pain or discomfort while feeding

  • Confidence-building and reassurance

  • Feeding plans tailored to your baby and your goals

  • A safe space to talk things through

My support is holistic — I hold space not just for the practical side of feeding, but for you as a whole person. I bring calm, patient, compassionate care as you and your baby learn this new skill together.

What does a private breastfeeding support session involve?

A session usually lasts around 90 minutes - we'll start by exploring your breastfeeding journey so far, looking at the full picture and giving you a chance to tell your story and share any worries - in as much time as you need.

We'll then work together to identify the potential cause of any issues, and put together a bespoke plan to help you meet your breastfeeding goals.

If we identify that more specialist support might be needed, such as a tongue tie assessment, then I can help you find the right place to go, and support you in managing your feeding journey while you go through that process.

All breastfeeding support sessions include a week of WhatsApp support, so I'll continue to walk alongside you through any ongoing challenges, or to give you reassurance that you've got this.

In-person support is available in Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding areas of Dorset and Hampshire (including the New Forest, Winchester, Southampton and Salisbury), or this service is also available virtually with the initial support session taking place over Zoom.

Or consider hiring me as your postnatal doula - as well as being able to provide you with support and guidance with feeding your baby, I'll be there to provide practical and emotional support with all aspects of those early days and weeks.
